On November 9, 2006 The Wagner Gallery of Town and Gown Theater was dedicated. The gallery was named for long time Stillwater residents Jon and Betty Wagner, both now deceased. The Wagners played key roles in many of the theater's productions both behind the scenes and on stage beginning in the 1950s. Betty's final role was in the 1993-94 season as Daisy in "Driving Miss Daisy."
The gallery is dedicated to honor Mr. and Mrs. Wagner for their tireless efforts and artistic contributions to Town and Gown and was funded through contributions made in Betty's name at the time of her death last spring and was matched by the theater. The Wagner Gallery funds also provided for an elegant cherry wood and glass display case to protect the many varied art forms and collections that are featured.
Throughout each season Town & Gown Theatre's Wagner Art Gallery hosts local and regional artists who display their works during each performance. Town & Gown has been the showcase of many kinds of art including, pottery, sculpture, woodworking, photography, needlepoint and many others.
